LENGTH OF COURSE :

  • New Students - 2 full day 6.5 hour in class training session.
  • Recertification - 1 full day 6.5 hour training session
  • Covid-19 ACLS Provider Interim Training - (New and Expired Students) ~6 hour live online training class, will be required to do in class training by July 31, 2020 or when in class training can resume
    • Please note with online registration that the date you select will be the date to access the online live training portion. Your in class session will be scheduled once in class training has been approved to resume.

      • Pocket Reference Card – print (RE5570E) or digital (RE5570ED) – Included in Provider manual and sold separately. 
      • The Precourse Self- Assessment evaluates your knowledge in three sections: rhythm recognition, pharmacology, and practical application. A passing score for the self-assessment is 70%, and you may take it an unlimited number of times to achieve a passing score. You will need to bring your Precourse Self-Assessment certificate with you to class.

    VALID FOR :

    • Basic Life Support Provider is Valid for 1 year through the Heart and Stroke Foundation
    • ACLS Advanced Cardiovacular Life Support is Valid for 2 years through the Heart and Stroke Foundation
    • ACLS Provider Interim Course - Valid until July 31, 2020. In class session must be completed prior to this date (or when in person training resumes after the pandemic) to receive full certificate

    AVAILABILITY OF COURSE

    PREREQUISITES :

    • New Students - A Current (NOT EXPIRED) Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada Basic Life Support Provider or BLS. You must present your card at the ACLS course (please note that your Basic Life Support for Health Care Provider card must be issued by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada) Alberta Health Services will "Not" accept Red Cross or St.John's Ambulance. Current registration as a health care professional for physicians, paramedics, nurses, respiratory therapists, dentists and military levels QL5 and above. For ACLS Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Training it is recommended to complete the pre-study guide before entry to ensure a solid knowledge base. 
    • Recertification - Must Provide a Current (NOT EXPIRED) HEART & STROKE FOUNDATION ACLS & BLS certificate at time of course. Students who are unable to provide the certificates will be unable to attend the course and will forfeit course fees.

This ACLS Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Course matches with AHS and ACP standards for all Emergency Medical Service guidelines through any Emergency Medical Field requiring the understanding of Cardiovascular arrest or failure.
